In the spring, in late April, when the earth has almost absorbed all the snow, the trees seem to be awakened from sleep. Their roots, rising out of the ravine up the side of the river, like the feet, leading into the forest a ghostly castle. I painted this picture to me in an unusual manner of impressionism, but very quickly wanted to capture the lightness of fleeting Mirage which is created by the evening light on bare branches.
