Elephant bronze, chasing, patina, jade stand.
The work was created in 2015 in the workshop of S. Falkin and participated in the exhibition "The World of Stone" in St. Petersburg. Finished in 2020.
Her appearance was a response to depression, which captured joy, but failed to take away spontaneity and perseverance. In a sense, the elephant reminds me of the childish spontaneity and carelessness that I had to say goodbye to at that moment. It was difficult to move forward, there was an abyss ahead, a step into it spoke of parting with the familiar. This step was a protracted parachute jump near Gatchina, which saved the situation - it gave the experience of a successful landing.
St. Petersburg architecture cannot leave the artist calm, and of course, how not to ignore the symbol of the city. From an artistic point of view, a more modest stand will look much more harmonious (which I recommend doing in orders), but this is still an impression, an impression.
