In ancient Egypt, fluffy yellow mimosa balls were considered a symbol of the sun and rebirth. In France, since 1931, the Mimosa Festival has been held annually in the second half of February in the city of Mandelieu la Napoule. In Italy, these charming fluffy inflorescences were chosen as a symbol on March 8 for a reason, because this fragile and delicate-looking plant is extremely hardy and can withstand almost any conditions except sub-zero temperatures. It is thanks to Italian women that a bouquet of yellow and fluffy mimosa has become a traditional gift for March 8. Despite the fact that mimosa is now grown almost everywhere in Italy, and there are special plantations near Sanremo, Sardinia is the real kingdom of mimosa. The original scent of mimosa was also appreciated by perfumers, making yellow flowers a symbol of spring and the awakening of nature. Perfumes with a hint of mimosa are in demand among women of different age categories, confirming the versatility of the fragrance. The delicate scent of mimosa is included in the fragrance of the famous French perfume "Chanel No. 5".
