In the north-west of Italy in the Lombardy region, 40 kilometers from Milan, at the foot of the Italian Alps, surrounded by greenery of forests is Lake Como, the third largest lake in Italy.
The shape of the lake is usually compared with the inverted letter Y, which is exactly what the three arms of the lake look like in shape, converging almost in the center of the sleeves. The sleeves got their name from the names of the cities from which they originate - Como, Lecco and Colico.
Due to the climate around the lake, nature resembles the Mediterranean. Thanks to the Romans and Greeks, grapes, laurel and olive trees, cypresses, chestnuts, ever-flowering shrubs, and many herbaceous plants appeared here.
Recreation on Lake Como is for people who love a leisurely pastime, contemplation of the surrounding nature, morning walks along the lake when the coolness of the night has not dissipated and the sun is just rising, lunches and dinners by the water under the shade of plane trees, evening walks when lights are lit on opposite shores, pleasure boats float on the lake with full illumination.
The painting is painted in the style of the artist Leon Rowlett.
