Prototype: David (Italian: David Michelangelo) is a marble statue by the outstanding Italian sculptor of the High Renaissance Michelangelo Buonarroti, located in the Accademia Gallery, Italy.
David was created based on biblical motives. He was a Shepherd and showed himself to be a reliable and courageous man, defeating a lion and a bear, protecting his sheep. Externally, he is blond, ruddy, handsome and strong.
“David” is recognized as the standard of male beauty of the Renaissance and one of the most significant masterpieces of world art. But to understand why the sculpture received such a high rating, you must first understand the context in which David was created.
